RXT-G stands for Range Extending Trailer - Generator and has also been referred to
as the Long Ranger.  This unit converts a BEV to a series hybrid for long distance &
cross country travel.

The history of the RXT-G includes four prototypes built between 1995 & 2001 for
various applications.  To the best of our knowledge the first concept prototype carried a
smaller 250cc engine rather then the later 500cc 4 valve configuration.  There are
three known examples; one on the yellow tzero pictured below, another one the tzero
pictured in red (and is currently owned by a private party in Germany), the last is the
TMC prototype for the Rav4-EV pictured below in white (and is the example held in our
collection).

Due to teh BEVs "electric first" design, series hybrids are capable of greater fuel
economy when compared to standard OEM parallel hybrid drives; which, by definition,
rely on "ICE first" with an electric boost to ICE operations.  We believe BEV series
hybrids are the next logical step to much greater fuel economy.
